The state is bordered by Chhattisgarh to the north, Odisha to the northeast, Telangana & Karnataka to the west, Tamil Nadu to the south and the Bay of Bengal to the east. Amaravati is the capital of the State; Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Tirupati, Rajahmundry, Guntur, Kakinada, Ongole, Nellore and Kurnool are the important cities of the state. The state is moving the capital to the port city of Visakhapatnam.

The state GDP in 2020-2021 is 160 billion USD, of which services account for 40.89%, followed by agriculture (40.11%) and industry (19.01%). Agriculture grew at the fastest rate of 14.37% between 2011-12 and 2020-21, followed by services (11.11%) and industry (6.37%). Andhra is a dynamic state with the most developed road, sea and air infrastructure in India; GDP growth rate ranks first in India (11.43% in 2021-2022; 16.2% in 2022-2023). Key areas and strengths of the state include: Information technology, seaports, textiles, pharmaceuticals, fisheries and agricultural products. Seafood is the state's largest export, accounting for about 11.39% of total exports in the 2020-2021 financial year.

To facilitate the connection between Vietnam and Andhra Pradesh, provide information to the Vietnamese business community about investment and business opportunities with Andhra Pradesh in the fields of information technology, seaports, textiles. garment, pharmaceutical, seafood and agricultural products, on April 5, 2023, the Vietnam Trade Office in India coordinated with Andhra Pradesh State Government to organize a Webinar with the theme "Opportunities for investment and business cooperation between the state" Andhra Pradesh and Vietnam”. It is expected that Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to India Nguyen Thanh Hai will attend and speak at the Conference.
