On the side of the delegation of the Association of Export and Import Enterprises of the Russian Federation, there were 12 enterprises with the participation led by Mr. Leer Artur Dmitrievich - Vice President of the Association. The visit aimed to explore the market, promote trade and investment cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese enterprises in general and the Thai Binh market in particular. At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of Thai Binh province introduced an overview of the economic development situation, especially the import and export activities of the province. In 2024, the total export turnover of the province reached nearly 3 billion USD, an increase of 12.6% compared to 2023. However, the export turnover to the Russian market only reached 9.6 million USD, accounting for only 0.3% of the total import turnover, showing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation between the two sides. The Russian representative expressed his desire to connect with Thai Binh enterprises in fields such as chemicals, food technology, metallurgy, agricultural products (fruits, coffee, cocoa, confectionery products), seafood, cosmetics and many other potential industries.
The delegation was also interested in legal regulations, tariffs, investment conditions, as well as opportunities to sign long-term contracts with Vietnamese partners. The two sides openly discussed opportunities and challenges in trade cooperation, especially in the context of many fluctuations in the international situation. Thai Binh affirmed that it always welcomes and creates favorable conditions for Russian enterprises to learn, invest and cooperate long-term in the locality.
