The Department of Industry and Trade provides training on consulting businesses to promote exports to some potential markets (05/22/2023)

Since the beginning of 2023, the global recession and inflation have affected the economy of Vietnam in general and import-export activities in Thai Binh province in particular. In the first quarter of 2023, export turnover reached 520 million USD, up 0.6% over the same period. Import turnover reached 447 million USD, down 24.7% over the same period in 2022.
Implementing the Work Program for 2023, and at the same time implementing the assigned tasks in the provincial plans, the Department of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Export Support Center, the Trade Promotion Department, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The Vietnam Trade Office in Chile, Myanmar, and Canada held a training conference on business consulting to promote exports for businesses to assist provincial businesses in finding partners, expanding export markets as well as timely market updates.
At the conference, businesses were briefed about potential markets in the world such as the United States, Canada, Chile and Myanmar in terms of market overview, trade policies, foreign exchange management regulations, and bilateral trade patterns between Vietnam and other countries, prospects for trade cooperation, support activities of the Trade Office (VTO) for businesses, and finally give specific advantages and disadvantages in each market. . Through the conference, businesses had a preliminary grasp of the situation in other countries and answered questions currently existing in their businesses. In addition, the Trade Counselors also proposed connecting businesses with focal points in the United States, Canada, Chile and Myanmar to open up new export opportunities for businesses.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade To Thi Huong Lan - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade said: The import and export situation of enterprises in the province has generally faced difficulties from the end of 2022 until now. The number of export orders dropped sharply, although businesses have been actively looking for new customers, the import-export situation in the first quarter of 2023 has not yet prospered, orders are not stable, most workers only working hours, no overtime. For a number of items such as yarns, high-cost input materials but low unit prices for export products, etc. Faced with that situation, from the beginning of 2023 the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Industry and Trade to regularly capture information, the Difficulties and problems from enterprises promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee to propose solutions to solve difficulties for enterprises.
Through the Conference, the Department of Industry and Trade wishes to create new opportunities for businesses in the province, help them improve their competitiveness, seek cooperation opportunities and develop foreign markets. This is a difficult but promising journey. With the same vision and consensus, businesses and all levels and sectors together overcome difficulties and join hands in the economic development of Thai Binh province in particular and of Vietnam in general.
