Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai emphasized that the construction of the VNTR Portal is to fulfill Vietnam's commitment in ASEAN to enhance policy transparency, facilitate trade in the region and supporting the business community to easily access information on trade policies of countries in the region, thereby proactively building market access strategies and improving competitiveness.
VNTR portal was built by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the support of the UK Government. This is a free, online portal that provides up-to-date information in both Vietnamese and English on key contents such as tariff commitments under the Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that Vietnam has signed. participation within the ASEAN framework; MFN tax rates, preferential tax rates in these FTAs; rules of origin; non-tariff measures (integrated from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development - UNCTAD data); commercial legal documents; customs clearance regulations and procedures; information on administrative rulings in the field of trade related to ASEAN economic cooperation; best practices on trade facilitation adopted by ASEAN member states; and the list of priority enterprises when carrying out tax, import and export procedures, customs clearance of ATIGA members and FTAs between ASEAN and partner countries.
The VNTR portal will be connected to the ASEAN Common Trade Portal (ATR) and the Portal of 9 other ASEAN countries, through ATR.
UK Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Development Amanda Milling also said that the VNTR Portal will help increase the diversity and inclusiveness of the economy by helping micro, small and medium businesses, including Many women-led companies benefit from cross-border trade and this will be the driving force behind trade and investment in Vietnam.
After the ceremony, the VNTR Portal will officially operate at https://vntr.moit.gov.vn and will be linked to the ASEAN Common Trade Portal (ATR), ensuring transparency. policies, facilitate trade, and support the business community in the region.
