Vietnam's textile and garment industry in 2025 is facing many major challenges from trade fluctuations, tax policies, geopolitical situations and global inflation. Meanwhile, the global supply chain is undergoing a strong restructuring, requiring textile and garment exporting countries like Vietnam to proactively adapt and diversify supply sources to ensure stable and sustainable development. India is a country with a long-standing textile and garment industry, with strengths in supplying input materials such as cotton, cotton yarn, blended yarn and synthetic yarn. Meanwhile, Vietnam is still dependent on about 65% of input materials from China. Expanding the import of textile and garment materials from India not only contributes to diversifying supply sources but also helps reduce costs thanks to tax incentives from the ASEAN - India Free Trade Agreement. In addition, the new reciprocal tax policy from the United States with major exporting countries, including Vietnam and India, is creating additional pressure on costs and competition. Strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the textile and garment sector will help maintain and expand market share in traditional markets, while jointly exploiting potential markets such as the EU, Japan, and Korea. In order to strengthen connectivity, promote trade and investment cooperation between enterprises of the two countries in the textile and garment sector, the Vietnam Trade Office in India respectfully invites associations, trade promotion centers and business communities, and interested individuals to attend the Workshop according to the following program:
