India strictly regulates food safety and standards for food products for domestic consumption as well as imported goods, which stipulates quality standards, packaging, labeling, and requirements. All imported food products are required to have a certificate of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued by the Indian competent authority, before being imported into India. . These are the regulations that businesses must meet in order for food products to penetrate the system of supermarkets and distribution channels in India.

The keynote speaker of the program was Mr. Amit Sharma, Head of International Cooperation, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. He will discuss the laws and guidelines on hygiene and safety in India, the benefits of FSSAI certificates, types of certificates, required documents for foreign manufacturers, licensing process. certification and provide recommendations and guidelines for Vietnamese companies to obtain FSSAI certification.
