Vietnam's dragon fruit has been exported to India since 2014 and is increasingly popular in India, the export value is increasing year by year and reaching 10 million USD in 2019-2020, decreasing in 2020-2021 due to Covid-19 epidemic and increased again in the first months of 2021-2022, however, it is still far behind the potential and demand of India.
India has a high demand for fruits and vegetables, which are sensitive to price fluctuations. Therefore, the difficulty in exporting dragon fruit from Vietnam to China is one of the opportunities we can study to promote exports to India both in the immediate and long term.
In order to support businesses and people to grow dragon fruits, the Trade Office - Vietnamese Embassy in India cooperates with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and the provinces of Binh Thuan, Long An, Tien Giang and Trade Promotion Agencies. , an Indian import enterprise organized the "Conference to promote Vietnamese dragon fruit in India" in an online form at 10:30 am on January 19, 2022.
