ANGOTIC (short for “Angola ICT Forum”) was first held in 2018, with the aim of creating an international platform to discuss, share and promote digital transformation in Angola and the African region in general. Over the years, ANGOTIC has affirmed its position as one of the most important technology forums on the continent. Previous ANGOTIC events have attracted thousands of attendees from more than 30 countries, with the participation of many international organizations, leading technology companies, telecommunications experts, policy makers and innovative startups. In 2024, the event recorded more than 12,000 visitors, 150 international speakers, 50 exhibition booths and dozens of in-depth discussion sessions. This scale is expected to continue to grow strongly in 2025. Over the years, ANGOTIC has played a role in promoting many important digital policies of Angola, such as the national e-government strategy, expanding telecommunications infrastructure, training technology human resources and attracting international investment in the ICT industry. Many cooperation agreements between the Angolan government and global technology corporations were also signed at the forum, contributing to laying the foundation for the country's rapidly developing digital ecosystem.
