Signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon (12/06/2019)
Aims to support Vietnamese businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to promote export promotion and brand development through e-commerce, under the program "Xuyen E-commerce Conference border ", on the morning of December 4, 2019, in Ho Chi Minh City, a signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon took place. The signing ceremony marked a new development step in the partnership. between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon after previous effective cooperation between the two sides, and at the same time, to enhance connectivity, marking a new step in efforts to support businesses in 2020.

The signing ceremony of memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon was successful with the participation of more than 2000 representatives of domestic and foreign organizations and businesses. Memorandum of Understanding aims to improve long-term activities to support businesses and domestic sellers to boost business and export goods to the international market. According to the Memorandum of Understanding, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon will jointly implement the main cooperation programs: Export through e-commerce, Vietnam brand development on Amazon, Vietnam human resource training on e-commerce, General stall.

On behalf of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Deputy Minister Do Thang Hai attended the signing and speaking ceremony at the program. The Deputy Minister emphasized that: “I hope the cooperation agreement signed today will create a premise for a close and regular cooperation between Amazon and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade in supporting Vietnamese businesses. Nam boosts exports and builds its brand globally. ” The Deputy Minister suggested functional units plan and carry out the steps to implement activities in the next 3 years with clear goals, establishing the role of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in supporting. Vietnamese business community makes effective use of Amazon's e-commerce environment to export Vietnamese-branded goods with clear transparency mechanisms, reducing risks with cost savings. At the same time, conducting a feasibility study and having a strategy, a plan to set up a specialized page of Vietnam's products on Amazon, created a prominent mark of the cooperation program between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon.

On behalf of Amazon, Vice President of Public Policy, Ms. Susan D. Pointer thanked the Ministry of Industry and Trade for coordinating to support 105 selected enterprises to participate in Export Promotion Program through e-commerce. and training businesses that the two sides have cooperated in the past. The Vice President fully agreed with the plan of cooperation between the Ministry of Industry and Trade and Amazon in the next 3 years and believed that 2020 will produce remarkable results compared to the past 2019.
