On December 21, 2017, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh, representing the Government of Vietnam and Ms Charlotte Laursen, Ambassador of Denmark to Vietnam, represented the Government of the Kingdom of Denmark signed the Agreement between the two Governments on Development Cooperation in the Vietnam-Denmark Energy Partnership Program for the period of 2017-2020 using non-refundable ODA funded by the Danish Government. This agreement marked the full development of the partnership between Vietnam and Denmark in the field of energy in order to concretize the contents agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and The Ministry of Energy, Climate and the Danish Building (now the Ministry of Energy, Infrastructure and Climate) on energy cooperation in industry and renewable energy signed on 18 June 2015.
The Vietnam-Denmark Energy Partnership Program is managed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the participation of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Development, the Department of Electricity and Renewable Energy and the Electricity Regulatory Authority force. The program will be implemented from 2017 until 2020 with total ODA of 21.6 million DKK (equivalent to 3.15 million USD).
