Green tea is mainly consumed in the southern part of the country. Today, tea is sold at teahouses and cafes and is increasingly becoming a favorite drink among younger people, alongside coffee. Famous chain stores such as El Kheïma, Timimoune, Sahara or Sud are increasingly springing up in the capital Algiers. Besides the traditional tea drink with mint, people today also prefer tea bags with international brands such as Ahmad Tea and Lipton of the UK. In Algeria in particular and the Maghreb region in general (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and Libya), drinking tea is a time of intimacy with family and guests. Guests are often invited to enjoy hot mint tea (with added sugar), showing hospitality brewed by the male head of the household. Here, the Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria introduces a list of Algerian green tea importers for domestic companies to be interested in and contact.
