1. General Information about the Program

Voluntary recall program of fire alarm devices called “Simplex TrueAlert ES Addressable Notification Appliances” (for Xenon and LED warning devices) sold in Vietnam market to check, update software and /or replacement for affected devices.

2. Related enterprises:

- Production unit: Tyco Fire Products LP (Company) in the US; Address: 6 Technology Park Dr Westford, MA 01886.

- The authorized representative of the Company in Vietnam: Vision and Joint Venture Law Firm; Address: 49 Hai Ba Trung Street, Tran Hung Dao Ward, Hanoi City, Vietnam.

- Importer and distributor: Green Solution Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd; Address: 525/2/6 Tan Son, Ward 12, Vo Gop District, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.

3. Program implementation method:

3.1. Location: at Green Solution Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd

3.2. Estimated time of inspection and repair: 1-2 hours

3.3. Implementation time: From August 18, 2022 to December 31, 2022 (From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays)

3.4. Product range affected

The number of products sold in the market is: 20 products

3.5. Repair cost

The inspection and repair for affected products is completely free of charge.

4. Reason for recall for repair/replacement and update
4.1. Phenomenon and warning
Fire alarms will be withdrawn due to a failure in alarms designed to warn people living and working in buildings that may not alarm visually and/or by means of a fire alarm. sound after 11 months of operation or a longer period due to changes in the previous software update. Some, but not all, alarm devices are affected with loudspeakers that may chirp "chirp".
To date, there have been no reports of consumer damage/injury related to the use of recalled warning devices in Viet Nam.

4.2. Guide necessary measures to ensure safety and interests of consumers during the recall process
The company recommends that consumers contact their Vietnam Distributor, Green Solution Equipment Engineering Co., Ltd. to perform a software update for the control panel power supply as soon as possible. When present at the location, the Distributor in Vietnam will test the fire alarm devices according to the test instructions at www.Simplex-Fire.com to confirm the normal operation of the product. After inspection, if the fire alarm devices are determined to be recalled, the Distributor in Vietnam will update the power supply program for the control panel to Rev 2.01.02 and/or equipment replacement.
