The Indonesian Self-Defense Committee (KPPI) has just announced the initiation of an investigation to extend safeguard measures against a number of groups of fiber products.
The case was conducted on the basis of reviewing the request of the Indonesian Textile and Apparel Association (API). Accordingly, API believes that a number of imported yarn products continue to increase, causing damage or threatening to cause serious damage to the domestic industry even though imported products have been subject to safeguard duties since 2015. 2020.
The Trade Remedies Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) recommends that associations and related manufacturing/exporting enterprises contact the investigating agency (KPPI) to register as a related party within the prescribed time limit; provide reasonable and timely information at the request of the investigating agency during the course of the case.
In addition, coordinate and exchange information with Indonesian import partners to consult with the Government of Indonesia, requesting consideration of socio-economic benefits and interests of consumers.
The Trade Remedies Department also noted that businesses/Associations need to contact and closely coordinate with the Department to exchange information and receive timely support in case of need.
