1. Origin:

BC15 is a high-yielding pure rice variety under the copyright of ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company, which was recognized as a national variety in 2008.

2. Breed characteristics:

BC15 is a cold variety, wide adaptability, strong tillering, strong regeneration.

Growing period in the Northern provinces: Spring crop 130 - 138 days, Season crop 110 - 115 days, South Central and Central Highlands: Winter-Spring crop (Spring) 115 - 120 days, Summer-Autumn crop (HT) 105 - 110 days, South: 100 - 105 days.

Tree height 110 - 115 cm; large, long, many seeds, slender seeds, 1000 seeds weight 23.0 - 24.0 g.

Good resistance to blight and brown planthopper, mild to moderate blast.

Average yield is 70-75 quintals/ha, good intensive farming is 90-100 quintals/ha.

The percentage of milled rice is high (68 - 72%); Average Amylose content 18.0%, good quality rice, clear rice grain, soft rice, strong taste.
