1. Origin:

TBR225 is a pure rice variety developed by KS. Tran Manh Bao and his associates breed under the copyright of ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company, recognized as the National breed in 2015.
 
2. Breed characteristics:

TBR225 is a cold-resistant variety, short-term, wide-adapted, strong tillering, resistant to intensive farming.

Growing period in the North: Spring crop 120 - 125 days, Season crop 105 - 110 days; South Central and Central Highlands: Winter-Spring crop 105 - 110 days, Summer-Autumn crop 95 - 100 days; Southern Vietnam 95 - 100 days.

Plant height 110 - 115 cm, hardy, concentrated flowering; large, long, many seeds, elongated seeds, 1000 seeds weight 24 - 25g.

Mild infection with rice blast and leaf blight. Average yield is 70 - 75 quintals/ha, good intensive farming is 85 - 90 quintals/ha.

The percentage of milled rice is high (72-74%); low Amylose content 13.7% good quality rice, white rice, clear, soft rice, strong taste, characteristic aroma.
