1. Origin:

Bac Thong 7 rice variety was successfully gathered by the Institute of Food Plants and Food Plants with the resistance gene xa5 to make the variety more resistant to blight. ThaiBinh Seed Group Joint Stock Company is the exclusive unit of production and business.
 
2. Characteristics of varieties:
 
The variety carries the gene for resistance to Bac Thom xa5 disease and retains the good characteristics of Bac Thong variety No. 7:

Growing period: Winter-Spring and Spring crop 125 - 135 days, Summer-Autumn and Season 105 - 110 days;

Plant height 100 - 105 cm, good tillering; tapered seeds, brown husks, weight of 1,000 seeds 18.5 - 19.5 grams;

Tolerance: Good resistance to Blight disease, mild infection with blast and powdery mildew; moderate cold tolerance; resistant to alum and salt quite well.

Average yield is 50 - 55 quintals/ha, good intensive farming is 60 - 65 quintals/ha.

Quality of rice and rice: The percentage of flipped rice is 78-81%, the percentage of milled rice is high 70-72%, the percentage of head rice is >77%; Amylose content 13.80 - 14.45%.

Good quality rice: White rice, soft, strong taste, has a characteristic aroma.
