List of some Algerian businesses that are seriously lacking in commercial transactions (11/19/2019)
Recently, Vietnamese exporters have encountered some problems with Algerian customers. Specifically, when the goods arrive at the port of Algeria, for some reasons such as lower prices than the time of purchase, or finding another supplier at a cheaper price, some Algerian customers often do not receive or press people. Sale must be discounted. This has caused damage to Vietnamese exporters. On the other hand, according to Algerian regulations, when the goods arrived at the port, it is owned by the buyer, though not paid, not even deposited or holding the original documents. If the exporter wants to sell to another customer or pull the goods back home, the exporter must have the consent and cooperation of the customer. When the cargo stays in the port for more than 81 days, the Algerian Customs will conduct auctions and confiscation of funds. Hiring lawyers to sue in Algeria is often expensive and the procedure is lengthy and ineffective. Taking advantage of this, some Algerian customers often make it difficult for Vietnamese businesses, especially when the goods have arrived at the port.

The following is a list of Algerian customers who have shown signs of serious business with Vietnamese exporters:

Vietnamese companies have negotiated solutions, including accepting lower prices but customers do not cooperate to take goods as well as return goods to Vietnam or sell to other customers but only require a deposit. After goods have been in the port for more than 81 days, Algerian Customs has auctioned them. Vietnamese exporters have hired lawyers in Algeria to sue clients, but so far more than two years, the Algerian court has not finished.

With the intervention of the Trade, guests had to cooperate with Vietnamese exporters to carry out procedures to re-export the rice lot to Vietnam, avoiding the risk of payment as well as the risk of being auctioned by Algerian Customs. when goods are in port more than 81 days. Some preventive measures
- To be sure in the payment stage, exporting enterprises should ask customers to deposit at least 40-50% of the value of the shipment or use confirmed irrevocable L / C payment. There have been a number of cases, after a few years of successful transactions, the customer suddenly disrespected the signed contract.
- Contact the Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria for assistance when needed.
