Taiwan announces new regulations regarding quarantine of imported goods (07/29/2019)
On July 22, 2019, the Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) received Official Letter No. 94 / VECO-TV on June 24, 2019 of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei discussing the side. Taiwan issued new regulations related to import of quarantine of imported goods. In this regard, Department of Import and Export information to the Agency as follows:

1. Taiwan Bureau of Plant and Animal Quarantine (BAPHIQ) has issued Official Letter No. 1081493964 on June 20, 2019 informing about new regulations related to phytosanitary goods imported into Taiwan, specifically :
(i) From June 20, 2019, plant quarantine objects must not be sent to Taiwan by post, unless the recipient of a plant quarantine object has been licensed by BAPHIQ. or have been exempted from this certificate by the agency.
(ii) Violations will be dealt with for the removal of infringing goods from Taiwan or destruction. In addition, in case the recipient of the parcel does not have a valid phytosanitary certificate and does not actively apply for quarantine registration, he will be fined from NT $ 30,000 to 150 thousand.
2. New regulations related to phytosanitary goods imported into Taiwan are posted by BAPHIQ at the website: http://www.baphiq.gov.tw/view.php?catid = 18871.
The Import and Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) would like to send information to the Agency to know and have appropriate treatment plans to avoid affecting the export progress.
